I spent the whole morning and afternoon with my Spanish students and it was a very productive lesson. They had wanted to read one of my plays so I printed out a 10 minute play about a husband and wife and the dilemma they faced when the husband cheated on the wife with her best friend. It's a comedy and they had so much fun with it and although it took us almost 3 hours to get through to
Vanessa had to leave us a little early because her boyfriend Marc was getting off work for an hour to have lunch at home and she was going to go cook something for him. I asked what she was planning on making and she wasn't really sure so I said can't you just make him a sandwich and she looked at me horrified. She said he would not be happy with a sandwich and would be shocked if she were to give him one for lunch. Just like the Italians, the Spanish people take lunch seriously. It's a big meal and should have multiple courses.
I headed to the library for a little bit after my lesson and then met Jean Marie to go up to the gym. It amazes me how quickly the day can go buy especially when you are teaching for 4 and half hours in the middle of it.
I'm including a lovely picture of Shop Street decked out in it's holiday attire.
