Class - Day 18 (Week IV)

Rain, rain go away and really don't come back another day! At least not for a week or so. And we can do without the ferocious wind as well.

Class was more sedate today since we all worked late on our assignments yesterday. We had a lesson on cultural diversity and it brought out a little silliness but compared to our usual antics it was quite tame. I think the dreariness of the past few days has also taken a toll on all of us.

I wish I had more to report today about Galway but it's been class, studying and trying to avoid being swept into the river by a gust of wind and carried out to sea.

I do have exciting news from New York City though. My play "Break with Reality" has been included in an evening of short plays produced by the wonderful Aching Dogs Theater Company and opens tonight. I'm so excited and grateful to have been included with the other writers who are dear friends and so very, very talented. My play has been directed by the talented Sandra Cummings and features and really wonderful, fun cast. The production titled New York Nuts5 will run from November 4 - November 7 at the Hudson Guild Theater,441 West 26th St. (Btwn 9th & 10th). I have been blessed to be part of the Aching Dogs Theater family for several years and I know all the members are grateful to The New York Hotel Trades Council, AFL-CIO who fund this important program and make it possible for we writers, actors and directors to be part of professional productions such as this. Here is a picture of the cast and although I am here in Ireland my best wishes and thoughts are traveling across the Atlantic Ocean to everyone at the theater.

The school was completely full this evening with classes so Eoin found us an alternate space to study at the engineering school at NUIG (National University Ireland Galway) which is only a 2 minute walk from our building. So it's been a productive evening and tomorrow I teach once again.

Eoin, being the sweetie, that he is walked me home from our study hall. He lives about 10 more minutes down the road from where my apartment is so it all worked out great and it was nice to chat about what we are planning on doing when the class is over. And no, I don't have the slightest idea but hopefully I'll have some revelation before I get back to New York in January.
