So the awful weather left us some time last night and we woke to a little bit of sunshine and not so cold weather. All-in-all a good start to the day.
I headed to the library early and spent several hours working on some writing projects I had put off. All went well and after getting some lunch I headed over to the Budding Cafe where I helped Ellen out by delivering some flowers to her regular clients. By that time it was really beautiful out and the perfect time for a walk about town.
Jean Marie and I were off to the gym early and then she took me for yummy pizza not far from the gym.
My days seem less and less exciting, I know, but hopefully next week it will all liven up. I got two more practice students. Marisol from Spain and Valerie from Poland. They were both students of mine at the school and I bumped into them at the Library today and they were very excited that I wanted to use them as my guinea pigs. Well I didn't use that word with them because I think it would have scared them. How to you explain to non-native speakers what it means for them to be a guinea pigs. I simply said I need to practice my teaching skills and they practically jumped for joy at the idea of having someone work with them in a small group setting. Now I have no idea how I'm going to structure my lessons but I might just try winging it with them for the first session or two. We'll most likely meet at the library so I'll have to plan quiet exercises and reel in a bit of my dramatic side to suit the environment.
They might have gotten the guinea pig reference. We use the phrase "test bunny" in German, which is also something furry and cute. ;-)
