Study Day (Week I)

It was a beautiful, almost warm day. The sun came out early this morning then left and made way for a little rain in the afternoon and graciously reappeared before sundown. All very, very nice. Altough, Galway really is a beautiful town sun or not. I must say that just looking at the rows of pastel colored homes on my way to school does put a smile on my face.

I however didn’t get to spend too much time out enjoying it as I spent the day at school working on assignments from about 9:00am – 5:00pm. I thought I’d get more done than I did but at least I’m a bit ahead of where I was when I left class on Friday night. I spent the better part of six hours working on a grammar assignment. I can truly say I had never even heard of some of these sentence forms. I have no idea how I’ve ever managed to write a paragraph that made any sense let alone a graduate thesis and over twenty plays.

When I left the school tonight I went to 5:30pm mass at St. Ignatius. There was lots of singing since it was the weekly folk group service. Although group is a bit of an overstatement since there was only one women playing the keyboard and leading the singing. I had fully expected a children’s choir of some sort since that’s what we had when I was growing up and sang in our parish’s folk group. I enjoyed mass no matter that lack of singers and it was nice to get outside my head a bit after a day of studying.

After mass I took a short walk near the water and than found an inexpensive Mexican restaurant where they kindly let me plug in my laptop and do another two hours or so of homework.

I’m going to go to bed as soon as I can since my brain needs rest after all this grammar.
